Educated in Canada and U.S.A. with degrees in Science and Computer Science, Alan has more than 25 years of experience from major international and local law firms in Canada, Singapore and Hong Kong dealing mainly with patent and design prosecution and portfolio management, serving international and domestic IP owners.

Alan advises client on IP laws, particularly patent laws. He deals with prosecution and enforcement of patent and design including drafting of specification for patent (mechanical inventions) and preparation of drawings; prosecuting patent and design applications; translating and interpreting technical documents; advising on patentability and infringement opinions; advising on and responding to examination reports and office actions; managing client’s patent and design portfolio; assisting client in enforcing and exploiting its IP rights.

Alan has expertise in patent and design prosecution worldwide and in particular Hong Kong, U.S.A. and mainland China.
